New Hampshire skiing movie
Here's a short video -- my first ever with my digital camera -- of Jane, Kate, Elizabeth, David and John skiing at Attitash Bear Peak on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Skiing in New Hampshire
Jane, Elizabeth, John, David, Kate, Ron and I had a great time this weekend skiing and celebrating Ron's 50th birthday.
Elizabeth and John got out ahead of the Friday storm, coming to Durham late Thursday night, and David hopped a bus to Durham on Friday afternoon, and we caravaned in two cars up to North Conway toward the tail end of the storm that night.
Saturday dawned partly sunny and Kate, Elizabeth, John, David, Jane and I headed up to Attitash Bear Peak. The Friday storm left about three inches or so on Bear Peak, so the skiing was very, very good, but got icy where it got pushed off late in the morning. We stuck to the lower half of the mountain during the afternoon and had a ball.
Ron's 50th birthday on Tuesday was excuse enough for a big dinner at Delaney's on Saturday night ... ribs, steak, wings, nachos ... we went whole hog and had a great dinner, followed by a trip to Cranmore for a night of Cranapalooza -- band in the bar and fireworks on the mountain.
Sunday was spectacularly sunny with warming temperatures, so we skied a half day morning at Black Mountain, and it was one of the more wonderful days of skiing I've had in a long, long time. Every run was perfectly groomed, the sun shone brightly, and there was hardly anyone on the hill, so Elizabeth, John, David, Kate, Ron and I skied really hard for our half day. Jane sat this one out but enjoyed the morning with a book sitting on the beautifully sunny deck.
Check out the picture to the left.
I'm hoping Margaret will post once she settles in from the Wolfepack trip to Idaho.

Air Force - Army Game
Skip, our commander-in-chief to organize the Air Force/Army game/reunion every two years, sent along the following:
The game is at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, which is the day after Halloween. I know that has possible implications for Margaret and Ella & Tom. I'm going to reserve two rooms -- one for me and Jane and one for David. Elizabeth will be in Cincinnati doing a clinical, but I think I've convinced John to join us. He can bunk with David.

Folks,
I talked to Christian at the Newburgh Days Inn this afternoon. She remembers how well behaved we were in 2006. She has reserved the same block of rooms (two double beds) on the front side of the hotel for $95 a night for the nights of October 31(Friday) and November 1st (Saturday), 2008. Call the Newburgh Days Inn at (845) 564-7550 and make reservations with "The O'Donnell Group" block of rooms. Pass this message on to your relatives.

Welcome to the new and improved blog
I'm getting into blogging with a better understanding now of the tools that are available. I've created a blog for work and one for my column.
With that motivation, I've taken the old blog and tried to revamp it in order to make it more useful for posting messages and pictures. Since it resides within the briandsetal Google account everyone with the password will be able to post anything and everything they wish.
Go ahead and experiment. If you are logged in, you can use the New Post tool up there in the upper right. Use the Customize tool to add elements like photos that have been posted to the Google account (like the ones at left). You can also post video, etc.
You can't break the blog so don't worry about rooting around to see what you can do.
Have fun.
